I love my work.
Every day I get to facilitate students building relationships across cultural boundaries. Pictured to the left are the happy attendees of The Meet, a weekly social intentionally designed for students to "meet new people, eat good food, and talk about life." Spearheading the creation and supervising the development of this event has proven to be a delightfully challenging undertaking, yielding more success than we ever imagined.
I supervise, mentor, and support a team of 25 student employees from around the world. I ensure they are trained, including planning staff development events such as a ceramics workshop at the University's Craft Center (pictured on right). It is a joy to support the staff as the develop over the years and preparing them for the workplace after graduation. |
We plan a variety of events to both share world cultures and support international students. Pictured on the left are students attending our weekly Language Circles. These conversation groups are held in nine different languages including English, Japanese, Arabic, and Russian. Pictured below are our South American staff with their flags during a South American cultural event..
